About Us

A Better Way to Choose a Fireplace

Crackle Fireplaces is a small, independent online business based in Missoula, Montana. We work with homeowners, builders, designers, contractors, and other customers across the country to help them find the right fireplace or fire feature for their project.

We started Crackle with a simple idea: choosing a fireplace shouldn’t mean having to figure everything out on your own.

There are a lot of options out there, and knowing which one is right for a particular space isn’t always easy. Our role is to help you sort through those options, answer your questions, and find a solution that makes sense for your project.

Personal Service Matters

Fireplaces and fire features can be a significant part of a project. There are dimensions to consider, installation requirements, electrical or gas considerations, finishes, features, and the overall look you’re trying to achieve.

That’s where we can help.

Whether you’re a homeowner trying to find the right fireplace for your living room, a builder working on a new home, or a designer looking for a specific look or application, we take the time to understand what you’re working on before making recommendations.

We’re not interested in simply pointing you toward a product. We want to understand the project and help you make an informed decision.

And if we don’t think something is the right fit, we’ll tell you.

A Real Person You Can Count On

When you contact Crackle, you’ll know who you’re talking to.

We’re based here in the USA, and you’ll be working directly with a real person who knows the products and the business. We don’t have a large customer service department or a different person answering every email.

We believe that makes a difference. When you have a question, need help comparing options, or need assistance with something after your purchase, you can come back to the same person who has been helping you.

We make every effort to respond promptly, communicate clearly, and follow through on what we say we’ll do. It’s a simple approach, but it’s one we think is important.

Based in Montana. Working Nationwide.

Crackle is based in Missoula, Montana, but we work with customers throughout the United States.

Some projects are as simple as helping a homeowner choose an electric fireplace. Others involve working with a builder or designer early in the process to determine what type of fireplace or fire feature will work best for the space.

Every project is a little different, and that’s part of what we enjoy about what we do.

You don’t need to have everything worked out before getting in touch. If you’re still exploring ideas, comparing options, or simply have a question, we’re happy to talk through it with you.

Have a project in mind? We’d be happy to help.

Meet the Owner

Hello and thanks for visiting!  I’m Carl, the owner of Crackle Fireplaces.  I grew up in Missoula, MT and currently reside here.  I have numerous houseplants that I care for.  My favorite things to do in the summer are hiking and golfing.  During the winter you can find me skiing at Snowbowl or hiking in the snow up the Rattlesnake Wilderness.  You can also find me at a brewery enjoying a beer.  I graduated from the University of Montana with a Marketing degree.  I really enjoy helping people with fireplaces and fire pits!  I think they’re really cool and I hope you do too.

Drop me a line, it would be great to hear from you!
